Bring Your Pet's Most Recent Rabies Certificate
If your animal has been vaccinated before,
bring proof of previous vaccination on clinic day.
- Ontario County provides either a one or three year rabies certificate depending on your animal's vaccination history.
- Owners without documentation of their pet's previous rabies vaccine will be given a one-year rabies certificate for their animal.
Coming to the Clinic
- Clinics are FREE, but donations are appreciated.
- Animals are vaccinated by a licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
- Clinics open at 9 am and close promptly at noon.
- Animals must be at least 3 months old to receive vaccine.
- Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Be aware; clinics are sometimes crowded and NOISY.
- Owners will be asked to clean up after their own pets.
- Dogs must be on a SECURE leash.
- Cats and ferrets must be in SECURE containers.
- One animal per container.
- There will be paperwork to complete. WEATHER PERMITTING consider leaving your animal(s) in your vehicle while you accomplish this task. Once paperwork is complete, you may retrieve your animal and go directly to the vaccination station. This is less stressful for some animals (and their owners) than waiting in line.
- Clinics are usually busiest with longest lines between 9:00 am and 10:30 am.
- Clinics are less busy with shorter or no lines between 11:00 am and noon.
