Local Health Department's Role in Rabies Prevention
In New York State, county health departments are responsible for:
- Arranging vaccination for people who have had contact with a rabid animal.
- Offering free rabies vaccination clinics for cats, dogs, and ferrets.
- Educating the public about rabies prevention
