Children and Youth With Special Health Care Needs Program

The Children and Youth With Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) Program is a New York State initiative in the arena of children with special needs.

The program focuses on children ages 0-21 who have, or are suspected of having, a serious or chronic physical, developmental, behavioral, or emotional condition and who also require services of a type or amount beyond that required by children generally. The Bureau of Child and Adolescent Health hopes that by creating this program it will better define the issues and priorities of this population.
